Hugs & Kisses for SweetP !

I've opened my Christmas in July pressies - thank you so much, Paula of Coffeetime Stitches!

I've been thoroughly spoiled, haven't I ? A gorgeous stocking, I have never had one before, a Clover white marker and little rolls of cord and ribbons!

Also, a gorgeous table runner, 30's fabrics and needle cases! I just love the card made from and A4 paper and wrapping paper! I can't wait for Christmas now to use my goodies!

Whew! Back to Green Tea and Sweet Beans BOM - very challenging! When one tries to find ways to make things easier, is that called cheating?

I have discovered I am very good at it - foundation-pieced, except for a little bit of applique to incorporate the yellow strips - the block does measure 6 1/2" square as it should! Oh, I do hope I can get through the rest of the quilt using these sort of shortcuts - not enough time to hand piece it all. Am loving making this quilt - click on my Sidebar, just to the left, if you are interested!

This was our place last night - son-in-law working and several Supervisors!

Tried and tested today, my new sewing bench - it is just perfect and cost about $150 all up, from Bunnings! Still extension leads to be connected safely and quilts to be hung - My Studio is coming along very nicely!
As you may have gathered - I am having the time of my life this weekend - Pea and Bacon Soup in the Slow Cooker and Dancing with the Stars on tele tonight - it doesn't get much better than this on a wet, cold winter's day! Hope you all enjoying yourselves, too!

Oh that does sound like a lovely weekend. And a lovely SIL to help with getting the studio together.

What a love your SIL is to put that all together for you :o). I really like the cabinet, is that how you bought it or have you modified it a bit?
Mmmmm, pea and ham soup, I haven't had that for ages. Perfect for a winter night :o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Glad that your weekend is a good one, Paula is such a lovely person, she was one of my swap partners in 'The Kitchen Swap' and went the extra mile with that one too. You will have to hope that Santa knows you now have a stocking to fill ;0)

Lots of lovely goodies, lovely quilt and a new sew place, how lucky are you,
Big hugs, Lizzie XX

Your studio is looking good. I've been giving mine a re-vamp. I only have to get a little ironing board like yours and I think I'll be happy for quite a while. Will post a pic when I give it a quick tidy.

Hi Lurline, I love your sewing bench and the quilt colors are so very pretty. Your soup and favorite tele show sound like a great way to spend a cold evening inside. We actually had a cooler Summer day yesterday. I was able to weed in the garden for about 3 hours before the heat got too terrible.

Hi Lurline, Sounds like a great weekend. Curious about your sewing bench. Love to get one made & you caught my eye saying $150 from Bunnings. Was it bought that way or made. Appreciate if you'd let me know. Hugs, Jeanette

Oh, I love pea soup. My favorite recipe has no meat it in though, so it works out perfectly, since I'm supposed to stay low fat!!

Love your little blocks! I've given up trying to sew for the time being. Too many distractions in the summer!!

The new work table looks good and loving seeing the blocks and the lovely mail.I've been experimenting with pea and ham soup this year and decided the yellow peas are nicer than the green.
