Beautiful Sunshine!

We have maybe a half hour until the chill sets in - lots of heaters on and quilts dragged out in this part of the world - makes me feel like vintage style quilts to cuddle up under - let's see what the rest of winter brings - it would be nice to think I could get a nice applique underway!

A few more rows, maybe - I'm aiming for a cushion top at the moment - a lot of fun and happiness there with the clear bright colours - the Clover Yo-Yo Maker makes it all very mindless ( relaxing, is a better word, lol!)

See my copy of Brigitte Giblin's Clamshells in the background - I also ordered Lizard of Oz's papers there a while back. I hope to have a little trial over the weekend to see if I qualify to join Sue-Ann's Clamshell Club I have always wanted to make a cot quilt! Google both our Designer's sites if you would like to find some patterns.

I hope we have more lovely sunshine in the morning - maybe I will get to have a little play on my machine. It has been a very 'up and down' week for me - makes me really appreciate the good times! Its been nice checking out some blogs, welcoming a few new Followers (a big Thank You!) and please pop over and visit our new Blogger Helen at Cats Meow - Helen is a gorgeous girl and an accomplished quilter - I'm sure we can drag her into a few projects over time !

Have a fun weekend!

PS - Gee it is lovely to say hello again!

We have just the opposite weather going on here in Southern Utah. Our temps are over 100 degrees each day.
I'm so glad you are feeling well enough to work on a few projects. Thank heavens for those good days.

Hi Lurline,

Your yo-yo project is so fresh and pretty! I need to try the Clover yo-yo maker...I think I even have one, LOL, just waiting for my attention!

It is so warm in Michigan this weekend that it is nice to think of someone getting to snuggle under a cozy quilt...I know it is not so lovely for you when you are craving warmth and sunshine!

I'm going to check out the clamshell patterns, etc. Barbara Brackman recently featured a large, antique variation that I think I am going to try to draft a pattern for...it contains large clamshell shapes and arcs of tiny pieces (like "pickle dish") over the clamshells. Barbara didn't think there was a pattern for it, but I am going to try and draft one. I love all the clamshell fever...there are a couple of people in the states messing around with them, as well.

Take care and I wish you lots of sunshine!

In stitches,
Teresa :o)

I wish I could send you some of our summer heat! Stay warm!

Cute yo-yos! The fabrics are happy and bright. We are supposed to get into the 90s this week-end. While you have heaters going, we be using the a/c.

Hi Lurline, the weather here has been terrible the last couple of days too. Freezing in the morning and then low cloud or fog hanging around ALL day.
I love your yo yo's and isn't the clover yo yo maker just the best! I am slowly making a small quilt with the same size one as you.
Have fun with the clamshells - don't you just love those dowloadable patterns so you can get it straight away? Keep warm.

The yo yo's look so sweet. I'm not going to get addicted to clamshells, no I won't but I can enjoy everyone elses. It's good to hear you're getting some sewing time in.

Such cute little yo-yos. I have some of those clover tools but have never used them. I thought it would be nice handwork to carry along, but never decided what to make. You little cover looks so cute though, that I may have found inspiration.
