Oh, yes and I am starting to feel wonderful! I've had a week in hospital with pneumonia and collapsed left lung - aren't I lucky that I could lie there and think about beautiful quilts to make. I haven't been great for a long time, so let's just hope I have turned a big corner.
Enough of that - I've had a lovely fleeting little browse of all your work in the last couple of days and I'm now tidying up this computer - great feeling! I have just picked the puppies up from their overdue overdue beauty parlour visit and soon I am going to cook a lovely, simple dinner for us.
I am sure you must have all seen the quilt above featured on the cover of Sarah Fielke's new book - a nice book and well worth having for a lovely fresh, modern touch - yes, it is on my agenda! Congratulations, Sarah!
Just can't escape my passion for Kaffe's fabrics, pinwheels, too, lol! Another on my agenda, I just wish the Accuquilter had more variety in their half square diamonds cuts - oh, that doesn't sound right, but I guess you know what I mean! This one above is so simple, rich, vibrant and pretty. I have lots of suitable fabrics in my stash. Oh, I know I am still working on my beautiful Liberty - but this would be so easy to handle in comparison.

Don't overestimate what you can do now that you are feeling better. Take it easy. This is the voice of experience with a collapsed lung. It will speed your recovery if you don't overdo now.
What's the floral fabric on top of Sarah's book in the first picture? I think I need some of that!
I am happy for you that you are recovering and inspired by quilting. Take care.
Only a quilter would be laying in a hospital bed dreaming of projects while her lungs heal! Please take good care of yourself Lurine!
♥ Eileen
That doesn't sound too good, make sure you folow the doctors orders and be gentle with yourself. Sorry to hear about your woes. It sounds like you could have some quality stitching time ahead with lovely fabric and books.
Take it slow for a while love your photos of the new book and fabric.
I am sorry that you have been ill, hope you are recovering fast and soon will be able to play with your wonderful fabrics.
Sending you armfuls of positive thoughts interlaced with huge virtual hugs and a ton of prayers for a successful outcome to this temporary freckle in the constant balance of everyday life in which we seem to have little control over !!! Judy C
Oh, poor you. Do get better soon. Pneumonia is not a nice thing and I'm sure a collapsed lung isn't either! Your new projects look certain to cheer things up, though. :)
So glad to hear you are on the mend! The hospital is no place to spend much time...ick! Your quilting projects will help speed your recovery, but do take the doctor's advice and take it easy!

Our dear Lurline - It's wonderful to see you home and pottering about - but do please take it easy and look after yourself! Looks like you've got some lovely distractions to help keep you occupied. A few pinwheels will cheer you up!

Oh my, I was wondering about you and now I know where you have been. And it was not off on some exciting quilting adventure. I hope you get all better very soon.
So glad you are better and that you have sunshine to brighten your day. Sunshine is always more beautiful after some gray days!
Lurline, I love the little header across your blog -- the little "doll" figures. Is there a pattern for that/
You really have had a year of it, haven't you? So glad to know you are feeling somewhat better. I've heard that Quilting books and beautiful fabrics speed up the healing process.(wink)
Get better soon. Do listen and take it slowly-I'm sure you do not want to end up in hospital again.
I have Sarah's book and it is divine.
Hope you feel better soon! I think you have such an upbeat personality, thinking about quilts when you are in the hospital. You are a glass half full gal.
You know I was starting to worry about you since it was so long between post.....but sometimes you do a walk about and don't blog for a while. Take good care and recover fully so you don't have more problems with winter coming on.
lovely to have quilts and fabric and beautiful designs to keep your mind busy while you heal.

Oh I do feel for you, Lurline; I had pneumonia and the week in hospital 18 months ago after a trip to China. And if you feel like I did, you'll be forced to rest; your body will tell you; just go with it and enjoy relaxing and becoming stronger every day. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Lurline,
Hope you're resting and feeling much better.
Best Wishes & Happy Stitching,
Heather

Very happy to hear you are doing better.
Keep this in mind...
