The Missing Block!

I have been busily working away preparing my CWBQ block so I can sit and applique tonight - but I haven't been happy! Wherever I have lived, I have had 'a big black hole' in my place - maybe it is the pace I travel at, but it is not a good feeling to have 'lost' something and I experience it too often!

Block 1 was missing - I had searched every drawer and cupboard and thought 'oh, no - that's it , trying to be a neat-freak, I have thrown it out!

How dorky can one be? There it is happily pinned to a quilt on the wall in 'My Studio' to keep it neat and tidy.

With all this stress and anxiety, how am I ever going to teach myself Photoshop, and this month's Green Tea and Sweet Beans has arrived, too! Back to your preparation and move on, Lurline!
Happy Weekend!

  1. Oh Lurline, I'm loving the new block, those colours are fabulous. Now how could you think you had lost block 1 when Mrs Perkins is looking after it. Love the quilt it's on too.

  2. Love your new block Lurline. Little bit of red in the yellow and little bit of yellow in the red. I hope to do some stitching tonight too.
Have bits prepared but have not put that first stitch in yet! Went to the Royal show today and walked my legs off!

  5. I'm so glad you found the "missing" block. I lost one I'd made for a group quilt once...asked my angels and told them I needed to find it by due date..ended up making another and then found the first one on Quilt Presentation Day. My angels knew which date it was needed, they just didn't allow for making the quilt!!!

  9. I wish you would come to my house and find the piece of fabric I am looking for. I saw it about two weeks ago and cannot find it since. I donated some fabric to a thrift store and I feel like it may have ended up in one of the bags. And all the fabric I donated is long gone from the thrift store. I am glad you found your block.

  10. Looks like Mrs. Perkins is keeping watch over your blocks! I ended up putting binding for a quilt in a give away bag! Now I keep bindings in a bin so I don't do that again! Love watching the progress on your quilt projects.

  11. I've heard we should always look in the most obvious place first. I know all of us can relate to this experience!

  14. That is too funny! But you know it has happened to many of us - far too often :)
Have fun with Photoshop. I have really enjoyed playing with the photo editing program I have - not photoshop but can't remember the name right now. Can't wait to see your next Green tea and sweet beans block. That is such a fun quilt.

  16. I'm glad you found your block, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is always putting things away where I'll remember and then forgetting. I am not doing real well on my photoshop, but will learn at least some basics before it's over. Have you visited this blog called Photography by the Pioneer Woman:

She does a lot of photoshop tutorials.

  18. Oh I know how you feel but I had done the first two blocks of a quilt. Put them away to keep them safe. It took 3 year to find them, I had to move house to do it and in that time had remade them. I am pleased you found your soon than I did.

  20. It is a beautiful block Lurline.
My black hole is covered with a lot of clutter. As soon as I tidy up the hole appears and absorbs almost anything.
