I had a lot of fun making this quilt and then it seemed to hover around forever - originally it was intended for my grandson, Tyler, who is nearly 19 now - too girly 'they' thought!
There are so many great fabrics - all bits and pieces from my stash, ranging from repros to very modern Kaffe stripes! I'm sure it will find a nice home and keep some body warm, LOL!
Very pretty - and what a lovely Saturday you've had.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! I guess I could see how "they" would think it was girly, but I don't think so. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! I don't find it "girly" at all. The light sashing really plays nicely with all those colorful blocks. It looks like it was a lot of fun to make.
ReplyDeleteToo "girly"! Really? With that black border? Please, does a single pink bit of fabric out of dozens of bits REALLY make it girly? I don't think so!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great looking quilt, looks like it was a fun one.
ReplyDeleteBoys can be funny, I have a few that won't even have small flower prints on theirs....pooey....there goes most of my fabric. Love the quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Not girly at all. Very jazzy and modern art. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the finish. Log Cabins are timeless, so maybe in a few years he will be honored to have the quilt.
ReplyDeleteA totally modern quilt. I'm guessing any guy or girl would love it. I don't think I've seen a log cabin quite like this before. I love it.
ReplyDeleteLurline,
ReplyDeleteHow very gorgeous. Boys can be so persnickety. I love log cabins, they are great for yardage and scraps. Love it, love it! congrats to you.

Lurline that quilt is stunning, well done. I particularly like the huge visual impact that the black and white give to the other colours, really making them pop.

I disagree about the "girlie" part but I'm not a teenage boy. Someone will be thrilled with it.
ReplyDeletelooks great Lurline...I love scrappy quilts they are the best!!
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness This is Super Fantastic and Neat and Special! You've given me the first smile of the day and I'm not kidding.
ReplyDeleteHappiness and Joy to you my friend, *karendianne.
I LOVE the quilt! I especially love the sashing and little corner blocks, plus the black border. And didn't I see backing that looked like golf balls and tees on your previous post? That's not girly. :) I just started a quilt for my 24 yr old son...picked browns and blues...and I hope he thinks it's okay as it will be a surprise gift.
ReplyDeleteLove the wonky and yet the white makes it seem so crisp! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, scrappy quilts are so much fun to make and look at. They are especially nice when you can look at them and see bits and pieces of other quilts you have made in the past.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The sashing and cornerstones give it such a smart look! Whoever gets it will be VERY lucky!
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love these cheerful colors mixed with the black. Lovely work Lurline.
ReplyDeleteYou are so incredibly talented! WOW!
ReplyDeleteLurline I do like that.....the black really sets it off...
ReplyDeleteLove the look of some of those quirky fabrics!
ReplyDeleteRecently I have heard so much about adding white to your quilt and I must say this really paid off. It is quite stunning, I really like how it came together and I am glad you are pleased too. We so many time convey our feelings in to a piece and this one shows your artistic expression..
ReplyDeleteHugs,
