Yes, just playing (and drooling!) - wow, the designs that exist nowadays! I am off on this track for a couple of reasons - when I felt so unwell during the cold winter, I realized I need my very own cuddle quilt. What could be finer and have such a beautiful drape? Also have seen and heard about quilts made from lawns and voiles and I rather fancy the challenge!
I have been collecting small pieces from eBay, Etsy and yummy quiltshops. I have selected clean, crisp, bright colours and will use them all. There won't be very much go in the bin at all - I usually don't stress about fabric useage and am generally very happy to fussy-cut - not with this fabric line though, lol!
I have a wonderful mess on my cutting table at the moment - usually intolerable to me - but this mess, I quite like! I'm not quite sure the hourglass will be the final design, but I think so! Maybe we'll have an hourglass alternating with a printed square - I think the larger prints need to be left whole to be shown at their very best. How about the golfers back, top left!
More playing - seems I was the only girl in Blogland who hadn't attempted a Mug Rug. I'm happy, at last I found the use for the faded-look black linen with the strawberries , it is really lovely! Finished rug is 5.5" x 11.5" - seems like a nice size for a cuppa and a bickie, a lot are being made quite a bit larger, this suits me!

I missed our Guild Christmas Party today - tummy bug. Ed was off to the chemist for me and things have settled a little - I'm sure you all needed that little bit of information ... sorry!
Happy days!

oh, lovely!!!! That will be so soft and wonderful when it's all done! My favourite quilt of all is a sampler I made with help from an online bee in liberty fabrics and linen - I sent it to the long arm quilter to quilt because they are quite slippery and the needle tends to 'stick' and miss stitches. I've got a second quilt I've been quilting for ages, and it's still not finished. Really I should rip all the quilting out and start again I think. How are you enjoying them so far?
Oh Lurline your poor tummy - hopefully things are much better now. I just love the little mug rugs and really should make one or two. Thanks for sharing.
get well soon
hugs - Miche'le
That certainly is an interesting collection of prints. Yes, some of those you might not want to cut further.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what you do.
Hope you are feeling better ... and, by the way, you beat me to the mug rug.
So glad to see you blogging again Lurline. Lovely colours

Feel better! I hate stomach bugs! I love all your Liberty lawns and voiles -- so pretty! Nice mug rug too!
Happy fabrics. I haven't made a mug rug yet either, but have been given one atleast.
I love Liberty Lawns too and have a nice collection of them. They feel divine. Love that black fabric and that mug is great. Have just enjoyed going through your posts. Breaking news - how exciting Prince William has just got engaged and is getting married next year.
Hope you are feeling better.
Love Shirley.xx
This is going to be a great cuddle quilt. So sorry you have not been feeling well.
What a gorgeous collection of fabric and I know you will stitch a wonderful cuddle quilt. Happy stitching!
It is like you are in my head Lurline. You make things I love so much. We are kindred spirits. This is just darling.
Whatever you end up making, it will be the softest snuggliest thing EVER!!
I am so glad you gave exact dimensions.I need explicit instructions to do stuff!!!
it will be both comfort and joy to you from your liberty quilt! i am doing one in elongated hexagons for the very same reason, so soft and gentle and i have the fabric.
Darling prints. Love, love the little quilt topper!
Hello Lurline, I read and enjoy your blogoften but do not reply generally as most of what I would say has already been said. I love your fabrics and agree that some should be kept fairly large. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. I think I'll make a few of those mug rugs as Christmas presents.

Oh the feel of that cotton is just delicious isn't it! We are lucky in the states its a bit cheaper but it is pretty dear everywhere......I have some that I bought and haven't had the heart to cut it up!
You are always coming up with beautiful projects!
Love the mug rug and I guess now I am the last to make one!
