Back to this month's Green Tea & Sweet Beans - today I worked on the Poppy Block -another cutie!
It won't get lost - my wall quilt has turned into a design wall - see it on the left!
Plenty of hand-stitching prepared - see my
CWBQ block next to it. I am straying further and further from the original - my own urn design and also I am adding little red berries!
I decided to foundation piece my Poppy Block - very
successfully, too! - a word of warning if you decide to do the same - follow the sequence of the instructions. Being the
Smarty I think I am - I jumped straight into it and it was a case of ' fools rush in where angels fear to tread'!
I'm looking forward to doing the rest of the blocks for this month. The weather has been so foul it isn't pleasant to venture out - however, all being well tomorrow, I will take a trip to
LQS 60
k's away - I want to check out their
Kona cottons and also a little bit of
Kaffe!
♥
Happy day!

Lurline, your blocks are looking gooorgeous! I like seeing how you are putting those personal touches into the CWB. Are you reversing your Sweet Beans to foundation piece? I suppose it doesn't matter if they are symmetrical. I have an order to do another Missy Perkins. Similar colour to yours I think. The other one was a hit.
Such lovely work Lurline. Nice to have such enjoyable projects when the weather is so disagreeable. Hope you get to venture out and do a little shopping.
Lurline love what you re doing al looks fantastic, I still haven't started stitching on my CWBQ quilt.

Sewing is a lovely way to spend the day when the weather is lousy outside! Looking great Lurline!
I love putting my own spin on something. Makes it mine! I have to say I'm just loving the Green Tea and Sweet Beans. Looks like you've found a terrific way to make your blocks work out easier. There are some delicious solids out now. I've love bolts of several colors.
What a cute block that is! Have fun shopping! I know you will :)

I am amazed at how much you are achieving :-)
Looking good

That is the cutest block! And great idea to paper piece.
Those polka dots are very fun. This looks like a quilt that would bring sunshine in on a cloudy day. Enjoy.
Love this poppy block! Looks like a lot of fun! And which LQS?
Your blocks are all looking awesome Lurline! Wonderful work... 8-)
I love your poppy block....not to keen on paper piecing myself but love the block.
Lurline are you doing extra blocks on your green peas?
Love your blocks Lurline. Boy you've been busy!! The weather here has been very Spring-like lately ... maybe yours is on the way :o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)
Beautiful blocks. That Poppy has the nicest colours and your new CWBQ block is going to be gorgeous. Enjoy stitching and/or shopping today
Very inspiring CWBQ blocks. I am glad to say, I've finished my #1 block and ready to photograph when the sun is out! I like the "Lurline touch" - Hugs Natima
I love the Poppy block, it is really cute. My design wall frequently has levels of quilts as I usually work on 2-4 projects at one time. it can get confusing.
I love your block and I like the polka dot fabric --soooo cute with it--and it is paper piecing--I have done paper piecing all day today and I did not want to ever see another piece of paper for a long time--yet if I had that pattern right now I bet I would be off to the sewing room!!!!hugs, just, Di
Lurline those blocks are fabulous! I love the berries on the CWBQ, the colours you are using look wonderful.

Green Tea & Sweet Beans. A quirky name. What are sweet beans?
Looking so good Lurline.

I especially love the CWBQ blocks...I'm very tempted to join you!
Hugs Julia ♥
After Lizzie mentioning the yellow on your CWBQ blocks i had to come back & take another look. I agree the yellow is very nice. I love the Green Tea & Sweet Beans too. Hugs, Jeanette
Hi Lurline,
WOW that is some really lovely work, those blocks are looking so georgeous!
Wow Luline your blocks are looking fabulous, I do love those yellows. I'm enjoying seeing your Amitie bom come together too. You get so much done I love it. xo
I don't follow instructions well lol that's probably why I haven't ventured into the paper piecing.
Love your new blocks... the colours are great!!! :o))
I love this cute little block!!!
I love the Green Tea...Beans BOM and enjoy reading your quick methods for the blocks. I wish I would have ordered it when I first saw it but resisted and I haven't heard back from Amitie so I assume the BOM is full. That will teach me not to procrastinate!
I read your blog regularly but usually just lurk. I'm also enjoying watching your progress on the Civil War Bride quilt. I did order that one and am waiting for it to arrive since the background is on back order.
Love the CWB blocks - the colours look very fresh on screen. The amitie is great too. Fabrics are quite different than the ones I am getting. It will be good to compare at the end.
Love the poppy block and thank you for the nice comment on the CWBQ blog about my block. Your blocks are just beautiful!
Times like this seeing your block I really wish I liked to paper piece. I am loving this quilt you are making.
