Poppy on Design Wall!

Back to this month's Green Tea & Sweet Beans - today I worked on the Poppy Block -another cutie!
It won't get lost - my wall quilt has turned into a design wall - see it on the left!

Plenty of hand-stitching prepared - see my CWBQ block next to it. I am straying further and further from the original - my own urn design and also I am adding little red berries!

I decided to foundation piece my Poppy Block - very successfully, too! - a word of warning if you decide to do the same - follow the sequence of the instructions. Being the Smarty I think I am - I jumped straight into it and it was a case of ' fools rush in where angels fear to tread'!

I'm looking forward to doing the rest of the blocks for this month. The weather has been so foul it isn't pleasant to venture out - however, all being well tomorrow, I will take a trip to LQS 60k's away - I want to check out their Kona cottons and also a little bit of Kaffe!
Happy day!

Lurline, your blocks are looking gooorgeous! I like seeing how you are putting those personal touches into the CWB. Are you reversing your Sweet Beans to foundation piece? I suppose it doesn't matter if they are symmetrical. I have an order to do another Missy Perkins. Similar colour to yours I think. The other one was a hit.

I love putting my own spin on something. Makes it mine! I have to say I'm just loving the Green Tea and Sweet Beans. Looks like you've found a terrific way to make your blocks work out easier. There are some delicious solids out now. I've love bolts of several colors.

Those polka dots are very fun. This looks like a quilt that would bring sunshine in on a cloudy day. Enjoy.

I love the Poppy block, it is really cute. My design wall frequently has levels of quilts as I usually work on 2-4 projects at one time. it can get confusing.

I love your block and I like the polka dot fabric --soooo cute with it--and it is paper piecing--I have done paper piecing all day today and I did not want to ever see another piece of paper for a long time--yet if I had that pattern right now I bet I would be off to the sewing room!!!!hugs, just, Di

I love the Green Tea...Beans BOM and enjoy reading your quick methods for the blocks. I wish I would have ordered it when I first saw it but resisted and I haven't heard back from Amitie so I assume the BOM is full. That will teach me not to procrastinate!
I read your blog regularly but usually just lurk. I'm also enjoying watching your progress on the Civil War Bride quilt. I did order that one and am waiting for it to arrive since the background is on back order.

Love the CWB blocks - the colours look very fresh on screen. The amitie is great too. Fabrics are quite different than the ones I am getting. It will be good to compare at the end.
