Bonnet Hilda!

Oh, it has been a lovely weekend so far - the Big Birthday Party on Saturday and then yesterday, a lovely long visit with friends who are staying at a nearby retreat for the long weekend. I would loved to have spent the weekend with them, but having the day with them was an unplanned pleasure, so that was great!

Then when I arrived home - another lovely surprise! Bonnet Hilda was here - Danielle and I had been discussing her recently and she thought she had her, so she had dropped her over during the day while I was out. She has an identical twin sister somewhere - one day she will show up, too! The 'Hilda' dolls are once again German reproduction antiques - such child-like faces - sad about patchwork and quilting interfering (lol), but I still treasure those lovely 'arty' days

Here's her little dress up close - I must have been crazy to have crocheted so much detail - very fine cotton and double scallops around yolk and hem! Ruffles, ruffles, everywhere!

Heidi and Byron loved their party with school friends and as today is the actual day, there will be more fun and festivities!

Definitely not a lot of sewing happening this weekend - now the worst part of all - to house-tidy, etc.! Wouldn't it be lovely if life was all froth and bubble!
Enjoy your day - hugs♥
